Video come out in DTC bus driver's suicide case

A purported video of a DTC driver, who had allegedly committed suicide in February, has surfaced in which he can be seen blaming some family members for his taking the extreme step, police said today.
However, they said that they have got the video examined from the prosecution branch and no case of abetment to suicide is made out.
The 36-year-old DTC bus driver allegedly committed suicide at his residence in southwest Delhi's Bindapur in February.
A WhatApp video has now come to the fore, in which Sanjay Verma has recorded his dying declaration and pointed fingers at several family members.

According to police, the father of the deceased, Mohar Singh had received a call from his son in which he asked him if he knew how to use the messaging application.
Singh did not pay heed to his son's plea to familiarise himself with WhatsApp and went to sleep. He woke up to the sound of a notification, in which his son had sent his video.

In the video, Verma could be seen pleading with his father to take care of his two children aged nine and 14. He also asked his father to fight for justice and get those people punished whose names he took in the video.

Before Singh could make sense of the video, his granddaughter started screaming as she had found Verma hanging from the ceiling fan in his room.
He was rushed to a local hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Now, the family is trying to get the Delhi Police to register a complaint of abetment to suicide, and have alleged that police is not taking any action.
However, police denied this and claimed that they have put a public prosecutor to look into the matter and that they have been following the case according to the provisions of law.
"The prosecution branch has looked into the case and they have found no criminal offence from content of the complaint," said DCP (Southwest) Surender Kumar.

Police has also looked into the videos that he has sent.
The development comes after a high-profile suicide case in Mumbai, in which a 23-year-old student live streamed his suicide on Facebook and talked about a suicide tutorial, before jumping from the 19th floor of his hotel.
