Acting on a complaint, a Vigilance Investigation Bureau team laid a trap and arrested sub-inspector Mohd Shahabuddin Khan and a clerk of constable rank, Vaidyanath Yadav, from Bheldi police station in Chhapra district.
An official release said, there were complaints that Khan had demanded Rs 12,000 from one Dhananjay Kumar of Muzaffarpur for forwarding an application before a court to release a seized truck.
During the trap laid by the department, Khan and Yadav were caught red-handed accepting bribes of Rs 10,000 and Rs 1,000 respectively, the release said.
The trap was laid following a complaint by one Sunil of Nawada that she had demanded Rs 15,000 for clearing his wages.
