VIB officials said the action was taken on a complaint by one Deepak Kumar, working as a clerk at the Primary Health Centre at Koiriyan Dinara in the district.
"Singh was demanding Rs one lakh for a confirmation report of Kumar's appointment, who had got the job on compassionate grounds. We verified the complaint and found it to be true," said a VIB officer.
A trap team was constituted under senior Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Maharaja Kanishka Kumar.
VIB has conducted 14 traps this year, in which 15 persons accused of bribery have been arrested.
