The 41-year-old billionaire asked the catwalk queen to marry him at St Patrick's Cathedral in New York with a 8.5-carat ring, reported New York Post online.
Chatwal has been married once before. He married New Delhi-based model Priya Sachdev in a multi-million dollar wedding celebrations in February 2006. They separated in 2011. He has a five-year-old daughter, Safira with Sachdev.
Canadas herself has walked down the aisle twice.
Chatwal, whose properties include the Dream Hotels, was previously linked to troubled star Lindsay Lohan, after the two were caught cozying up at his home in 2011.
