Vikrant to meet Vipul for boys' title

Maharashtra's unseeded Vikrant Mehta would take on Gujarat's second seed Vipul Mehta in the boys' singles finals of the BVG India-Arun Wakankar ATF Asian Under 14 Series tennis tournament here tomorrow.
Pune girl Malikaa Marathe would clash with sixth seed Mubashira Shaikh of Telangana in the girls' final.
In today's boys' semi finals, Nashik lad Vikrant outplayed Lucknow boy Rudra Kapoor 6-1 6-0 while Vipul staved off a strong fight from sixth seed Siddhant Bhavnani to record a 4-6 6-3 6-3 victory enroute to the summit clash.
Vipul also placed himself in line for a double crown as he reached the doubles final partnering Adarsh Tippabhatla. The pair would cross swords with wild cards Arka Ganguly and Srijesh Pillai in the final.

In the girls' semi finals, sixth seed Mubashira registered a 6-4 6-3 win to stop the winning run of Pune girl Richa Chaugule and prevent an all-Pune Final.
She will take on another Pune girl Malikaa Marathe, who continued her upset spree by trouncing Tannaya Sah 6-0 6-0 in the other semi final.
Malikaa, fresh from her triumph at the Under 12 nationals in Mumbai, also placed herself in line for a double crown as she and Richa Chougule made it to the doubles final against Sana Khanna and Tannaya Sah.
