Angry with the murder of a man, his family members and nearly 400 villagers today sat on a dharna in Rajasthan's Pali district demanding that the culprits be handed over to them.
Kanaran (32) was beaten to death in Bali area on Monday night and the accused, identified as Dharma Ram, Raja Ram, Babu Lal and Bhom Singh, were arrested by police yesterday.
Today, the angry villagers squatted at the Bijapura intersection demanding that the accused be handed over to them so that they could deliver "justice", additional Superintendent of Police Kewal Ram told PTI.
"Efforts to pacify them is on by police and district administration officials," he said, adding that additional policemen have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
