Mete, elected to the Upper House as an NCP member, later fell out with the party, and had received a show-cause notice. He contested the October 15 assembly election from Beed on BJP ticket.
Principal Secretary (State Legislature) Anant Kalse said that Mete has been disqualified with effect from October 13 under Disqualification on the Ground of Defection Rules 1986 of the tenth schedule of the Constitution.
Mete's term as MLC was to expire on July 7, 2016.
Kalse said it would have no bearing on Mete's candidacy for Assembly polls.
Mete had also targeted NCP over delay in granting reservations to the Maratha community, to which he belongs.
