Vizag: Compensation paid to families of refinery blast victims

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) today paid compensation to families of 28 persons killed in a blast at its refinery here on August 23 last year.
Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Panabaka Lakshmi, handed out the cheques of Rs 20 lakh each to the kin of victims.
Barring one, all the workers who died in the blast were employed by a private contractor.
