The Delhi government today announced the 16-day 'Delhi Walk Festival", beginning November 19, which aims at promoting urban exploration and giving people an opportunity to discover the "hidden" Delhi.
The first edition of the festival was held in February, and the upcoming second edition will have 200 walks led by 50 walk experts (organisations or individuals), making it the largest walk festival in the country.
"The first edition of 'Delhi Walk Festival' received an overwhelming response and on public demand, we are launching another edition in the same year," Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra told reporters.
"This edition is spread across many more locations," he added.
As many as 200 walks will be held at many popular places and unexplored Delhi, including at Tuqlaqabad Fort, Nizamuddin, Khan Market, Connaught Place, Humayun's Tomb, Lodhi Garden, CR Park, Paharganj, Haus Khas, Kashmere Gate, Qutub Minar, Sonia Vihar and Khirkee.
The festival will conclude on December 4.
