In fact, Wright met wife, sitarist Anoushka Shankar, while he was researching for a film in India and though the movie never got made, he has not given up on the idea.
"Anoushka and I would be in India in December and January. She will be doing concerts all over the country and I am looking forward to be back in India and connect with the film industry in a way that I have never done before.
Thanks to wife Anoushka, the 43-year-old British director is aware about Indian films.
"Of course, we watch Bollywood movies. I am a huge fan of Aamir Khan. I have never met him, one day I want to meet him."
While his last few adaptations were decidedly grown up affairs, Wright, in his upcoming film "Pan", tackles the classic story of Peter Pan - the boy who never grew up.
Hugh Jackman has transformed himself completely to play Blackbeard. Wright says he loved working with the Australian star on the movie.
"Hugh is kind of like a Bollywood actor. They embrace their characters with wide open arms and don't mumble or are reticent. Maybe, it comes from his experience in theatre. Hugh seemed like the villain that my 11-year-old self would have made. He is bad and beautiful and he is not afraid of being a little ridiculous.
