Confirming his taking over the new assignment, Sinha told PTI that his tenure at IFFCO-Tokio will be for three years.
Set up on December 4, 2000, IFFCO-Tokio General Insurance is a joint venture between the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Co-operative Ltd (IFFCO) and its associates and Tokio Marine and Nichido Fire Group, which is also the largest listed insurance group in Japan.
The company has crossed the overall premium of Rs 5,000 crore in early March.
Sinha, who was working as director at state-owned National Insurance Company in Kolkata, had put in his papers a couple of months back. However, he was relieved from his job last week only with the board approval of the company.
