"We already have 85,000 artists under our stipend scheme and will induct one lakh more from September onwards," Banerjee told a music event 'Anurodher Asor' in which a galaxy of singers participated.
She said the state government would sponsor live 'Anurodher Asor' (request songs) with a few television channels on Saturdays and Sundays for six weeks beginning this month end.
A host of noted singers performed in the presence of the chief minister. Some new music albums were alao launched.
