One of the most acclaimed Bollywood actors, Nawazuddin was asked to pull out of the Ram Leela programme in his hometown Budhana in Uttar Pradesh after members of Shiv Sena reportedly raised objections as he is a Muslim.
When asked about her opinion on the incident, Deepika told a TV channel, "I think as a society, in general, we need to be more inclusive and sentivie to people and situations."
"It is tough, but at the end of the day you have to find a voice. You have to see what's genuine to you and what's not genuine to you. Sometimes your opinion will resonate with everyone else and sometimes it may not," she said.
