Weak trend prevails in Chennai foodgrains market

Prices of thoor dal,urad dal,moong dal and gram dal declined while that of other commodities remained unchanged in the wholesale foodgrain market here today.
Urad dal moved down by Rs.300 per quintal to Rs.8,200 from yesterdays rate of Rs.8,500.
Likewise, Thoor dal,moong dal and gram dal went down by Rs.200 per quintal each to Rs.7,200, Rs.6,500 and Rs.6,500 from yesterdays rate of Rs.7,400, Rs.6,500 and Rs.6,500 respectively.
However, Sugar (Rs.4,250), wheat (Rs.2,700), Maida(90 kg)(Rs.2,600) and Sooji (90 kg) Rs.3,200 prices ruled steady.
Following are the wholesale rates of various agri-commodities (rates in rupees per quintal, unless stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 7,200, Urad Dal Rs 8,200, Moong Dal Rs 6,500, Gram Dal Rs 6,500, Sugar Rs 4,250, Wheat Rs 2,700, Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,600 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 3,200.
