Haryana government has deployed mobile and web-based applications to deliver health services to people.
These applications will also collect critical data, including on child and mother mortality, vaccination schedules and screening of disabilities, Principal Secretary (Health) Haryana, Navraj Sandhu said on the concluding day of the two-day e-governance conference, eHaryana, here today.
During the conference, senior government officials delineated the initiatives taken by different departments and discussed the challenges posed by inadequate power in rural areas, lack of sufficient bandwidth, collection and management of large data, and integration of various departments to offer a composite package of services.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Secretary and Chairman of Haryana Power Utilities, Devender Singh said that ICT was being deployed to plug pilferage, redress complaints, register online FIRs and facilitate industrial connection through online applications.
A pilot project has also been launched to allow large consumers with over 10 kW connections providing meter readings from their own meters and deposit the bills accordingly, he added.
Deputy Director General, UIDAI, Keshni Anand Arora said that 'Adhaar' card identification should be integrated with every citizen-centric service to facilitate authentication of an individual promptly.
Some banks have started using the KYC facility of UIDAI, she said.
The Chandigarh Administration has successfully used this system for slum rehabilitation scheme too, she said.
Chairman of Punjab Governance Reforms Commission, Dr Pramod Kumar emphasised on the need for rationalising policies, elimination of faulty schemes and improving processes to put in place an effective and efficient system of good governance.
