Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a web page on Thursday that will provide real-time information related to defence production to public.
Information related to defence production, exports, offsets, Make II projects and patents filed, among others, will be available on the dashboard -- ddpdashboard.gov.in -- of the Department of Defence Production, officials said.
The information will be available on mobile phones too. However, some information will be restricted for the use of officials only, Ajay Kumar, Secretary, Department of Defence Production, said.
During the launch of the dashboard, the officials told the minister that in 2018-19, the value of defence equipment produced stood at Rs 80,000 crore. The department has set a target of manufacturing defence equipment worth Rs 90,000 crore in 2019-20.
Kumar also told the minister that 44 start-ups are working with the ministry to develop 14 technologies.
The department is aiming at developing 25 new artificial technologies by 2024, he said.
