A delegation of leaders of Delhi unit of SAD (Badal), have presented a memorandum to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, raising objections against the reported move.
In their memorandum, the Akalis said that any such move would be unacceptable to them and they would launch an agitation in case the duo is included in the Indian official delegation to Olympics.
"We believe that this move would agitate and hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community and the old wounds will be revived. Sikh community is still awaiting justice. These persons responsible for Sikh's genocide are being deputed as India's representative in London, it is totally unacceptable," the memorandum states.
The Akalis said they have also addressed a letter to the British government strongly appealing that Tytler and Gill should not be allowed to even enter the UK and their participation in the upcoming mega sporting event be banned.
"The sentiments of crores of Sikhs/Sikh community residing all over the world have been hurt, the delegation strongly appealed to the Prime Minister that Tytler and Gill should not be allowed to participate in the upcoming Olympics mega sporting event," they said.
The delegation included president of the local SAD unit Manjit Singh GK and national vice president Onkar Singh Thapar and general secretary Avtar Singh Hit, besides others.
