Promoting the sequel to his film 'MSG: The Messenger', Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh today said he would open a "skin bank" in Haryana's Sirsa for women victims of acid attack and other forms of torture using the movie's box office collection.
The sequel is set to release on September 18.
"We will open the skin bank for women who are victims of acid attack or any other skin-related tortures and would provide free treatment," the Sirsa-based Dera chief said at a press conference here.
Skin bank and related grafting surgery facility would be set up in Sirsa. "Even we would provide funds for marriage of such victims," he said.
"From the box office collection of 'MSG: The Messenger', we provide funds to HIV and thalassemia patients," he said.
On the ongoing controversy in FTII Pune over appointment of Gajendra Chauhan, he said, "He should have been allowed to work first... Let him handle FTII... If he is not doing properly...Raise your voice."
Asked whether he would make any film on politics and religion, the Dera Sacha Sauda chief said, "I have no interest in it."
"However, I am impressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi because after becoming PM he first went to touch feet of his mother and sat to take her blessings," he said, adding that all his initiatives like 'clean India' and 'save girl child' were worthy.
"We have appealed to all politicians to fill up a form that they would not indulge in any corruption," he said.
Asked about reports of him participating in the upcoming edition of TV reality show Big Boss, Singh said, "We were approached. We put a condition that we must be allowed to hold 2-3 hours' Dera Sacha Sauda meeting daily outside the studio with public who visit us every day. No one has got back to us so far."
On the controversy surrounding Radhe Maa, he said, "Hypocrisy and extortion by abusing religion could not take anyone to god.
