"The Censor Board will be reconstituted soon and it will be done comprehensively as envisaged by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC)," said I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar.
The government will not tolerate corruption at any level and will take "stern steps" against those involved in graft within the Censor Board, Javadekar said as he cited the example of Censor Board CEO Rakesh Kumar, who was suspended soon after his arrest on allegations of accepting bribes.
"The moment the Censor Board bribery case came to light, we suspended the CEO and asked for a thorough probe into the matter. Such corruption will not be tolerated at any cost," the minister said.
"We are making efforts to create mobile applications for Radio/TV along the lines of what has been introduced by private players," Javadekar said.
