Woman accuses Sarpanch of raping her

An FIR has been registered against a Sarpanch for allegedly raping a married woman in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.
The FIR was registered on the complaint of the woman of Qasba village yesterday, police said.
The woman claimed that she had left her house after a quarrel with her husband 10 days ago, following which she was taken to meet the Sarpanch by two persons to complain against him, police said.
She claimed that the Sarpanch raped her, they said, adding that the matter was being probed.
