Woman attempts suicide outside UP SSP's residence

A woman today allegedly attempted suicide by consuming some substance outside the residence of SSP Lucknow, police said.
According to her family members, she paid visit to SSP's house to lodge an FIR against a police personnel for allegedly 'sexually exploiting' her.
The woman consumed some tablets at the residence of Senior Superintendent of Police here, police said, adding she was rushed to civil hospital after she fell ill.
Her condition was stated to be out of danger, they said.
Her family alleged that a police personnel, posted at Aliganj police station here, sexually exploited her for the past four months on the pretext of marriage.

The personnel later refused to get married after which the woman approached police station concerned, but did not get any response from them, they claimed.
She came over to the SSP's residence to lodge her complaint but when an attempt was made to chase her away, she protested and consumed the poison, the family members said.
