A 35-year-old woman has alleged assault by her husband against whom she had filed for divorce, Mumbai Police said on Tuesday.
The alleged incident occurred on Sunday when the woman visited the house of her husband in suburban Ghatkopar, a police official said.
The complainant claimed an argument broke out between the two over feeding her two-year-old son who lives with his father.
The accused allegedly tried to strangle his wife and physically assaulted her, the official said.
A case has been registered under various sections of the IPC. No arrest is made.
