Woman crushed under bus after bike hits pothole in Maha

In a shocking incident, captured on CCTV camera, a woman riding a motorcycle was crushed by a bus after hitting a pothole in adjoining Thane district.

The CCTV footage of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows the 43-year-old woman riding pillion being crushed by the bus when she slipped off the two-wheeler after it hit a pothole.

She died on the spot.

The road was waterlogged and it was raining when the accident happened. The incident, which took place yesterday, was caught on the CCTV camera of a nearby shop, police said.

Manisha Bhoir worked at a school in Kalyan in Thane district and was on her way home with a family member, police said.

In the video, she can be seen holding up an umbrella to protect the man and herself from the rain.

A case has been registered under sections 279 (rash driving), 304 (culpable homicide) of IPC and relevant sections of Motor Vehicles Act, police said.
