BMP constable commits suicide by shooting himself with rifle

A Bihar Military Police (BMP) constable today allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his own service rifle in Kishanganj district, a senior police officer said.

The constable shot himself on the first floor of the strong room of the Dighalbank block headquarters, where he was on security duty, Superintendent of Police, Kumar Ashish said.

The SP said the police was investigating the matter and have seized the service rifle and mobile phone of the constable.

The SP said the deceased constable has been identified as Rajiv Nandan Singh (45).
