Wife of one Babuddin (32) died on Friday while giving birth at a nursing home on Fazalpur street at Rohta Road.
On Saturday after performing her last rites, the husband, a resident of Muralipur village, came to the nursing home and shot at Munesh Tomar, a doctor there, with a country-made pistol, they said.
The shot hit her in the hand but hearing the racket, the nursing home staff gathered at the spot and beat up Babuddin.
