The body of Poonam Chauhan, director Non-Government Organisation, was found near Rajwahe under Kankarkheda police station yesterday, they said.
According to police, Chauhan, a resident of Sardhana, went missing on Thursday after she left home for Meerut on the pretext of teaching children dance and painting and she did not return until late night.
Thereafter the woman's husband and other relatives went looking out for her and tried contacting her on mobile phone, which was switched off. They later filed a missing complaint the Sardhana police station, police said.
The body was found bearing strangulation marks and has been sent for post mortem, police said adding that further probe is on.
