Woman gangraped by 12 robbers in Hapur

A woman was allegedly gangraped by 12 persons, who also beat up her family and robbed her house of cash and valuables in Narayanpur village in this district, police said today.
At least 12 robbers attacked the house of Shahid late last night and allegedly tied all the family members and looted the house of Rs 20,000 cash, jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh and other valuables, Station House Officer Mukesh Kumar said.
After the robbery, the robbers allegedly took the wife of Shahid, who has given birth to a child only 20 days ago, to a near by field and then took turns to rape her, he said.

Three police teams, including one of crime branch, were constituted to investigate the matter, Circle Officer Vishal Yadav said.
