Woman gangraped in Ghaziabad, accused on the run

A woman was allegedly gangraped by two men after being given a soft drink laced with sedatives here today, police said, adding that the accused are absconding.
According to Sihani Gate SHO Avneesh Gautam, the accused, who were known to the victim, called her in the wee hours on some pretext and gave her the sedative-laced drink. As she fell unconscious, the duo took turns to rape her in a moving car before dumping her at a secluded area near Bhatia Mor.
An FIR has been lodged against the two accused, identified as Virendra and Shushil Naagar, and a hunt launched to nab them, he said, adding that the victim and the accused are in their late thirties.

Police have raided all the possible hideouts of the two accused, said the SHO, adding that a relative of one of the accused has been detained to mount pressure on the duo to surrender.
