Woman IRS officer commits suicide in Jaipur

A woman officer of Indian Revenue Service allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her home in Jaipur, a police official said today.

Binny Sharma, 35, was found hanging in her home in AG colony this morning, Additional DCP (East) Hanuman Prasad said.

The body has been moved to a nearby hospital for postmortem.

A 2008-batch IRS officer, Sharma was posted as deputy commissioner in the central goods and services tax commissionerate in Jaipur, while her husband is also a government officer posted in Chandigarh.

"Reasons of the suicide are not immediately clear and the matter is being probed," the officer said.
