Woman raped, forcibly married in UP

A 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man, who also forcibly married her, police said today.
In a written complaint, the girl said she used to perform 'kirtan' in the area. The accused had invited her to his residence to perform the same and allegedly forced himself upon her but she managed to excape.
"Next day, the accused forcefully took her to an isolated location and allegedly raped her," police said.
She was then taken to Nain Chowk of Jawahar colony area where he forcefully married her. Later, the accused also took her to Faridabad Court and made her sign the marriage papers.

The accused then took her to Sanjay colony police station and demanded protection from the victim's family, police said.
A case has been registered against the accused and investigation is underway, police said.
