Woman who accused IAS officer of rape records statements

The 22-year-old woman, who has accused a senior IAS officer of repeatedly raping her, today recorded her statement in a local court.
The statements of the complainant were recorded in the court of the Metropolitan Magistrate (West) under section 164 of the CrPC. Her counsel also moved an application seeking protection for her.
The matter was posted for hearing tomorrow.
The woman had recorded her statements before police yesterday, and a medical test was conducted on her.
Asked about the development on the case, Police Commissioner Janga Srinivas Rao said that "the case is being probed properly", refusing to divulge further details.

Meanwhile, the accused officer, B B Mohanty, who is posted as the chairman of Rajasthan Civil Services Appellate Tribunal in Jaipur, has gone on leave. His office said there is no information when he would return.
The woman had alleged in the FIR lodged at Mahesh Nagar police station in the city on Saturday that Mohanty had raped her several times last year after promising to help her clear civil services examination.
Mohanty, an Additional Chief Secretary rank officer, has already rejected the allegations as "baseless".
