DCW chief Swati Maliwal, who is on an indefinite hunger strike, said today she would continue her fast till Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepts her demands for death penalty for rapes of minors and setting up fast-track courts to complete the trial in such cases in six months.
Maliwal's protest at Samta Sthal comes amid a furore over incident of rapes reported from several parts of the country.
On the seventh day of her hunger strike, Maliwal visited Raj Ghat on a wheelchair, carrying a placard which read - "This is my energy saving exercise. Still can run 5km!!."
Hitting out at the prime minister, Maliwal said, "He has failed to understand 'Man Ki baat' of our countrymen. Today, the country needs action and not speeches or statements from the prime minister."
