The building is being constructed using pre-fabricated steel structure technology and three cranes have been pressed into service to assemble the roofs and walls which have been prepared in the factory.

The concrete foundation for the building, which will come up in Industrial Area Phase-I of Mohali town, had already been prepared, while the pre-fabrication took three months.

Work at the construction site began at 4.30 PM today and in just a half an hour, the roof of the ground floor had been assembled.

Work will continue through the night as well.

The company, Synergy Group, claims that the building will be eco-friendly as it will consume less power.

It is also certified as earthquake and shock-proof by the Centre for Industrial and Scientific Research (CSIR), it said.

The brain behind the project, Harpal Singh, says the building will be ready within two days, and claims this is the first building of its kind in the country.

The unique feature of the building is that all its components are ready to be fitted in, he said.

He claimed that new construction technology will enable owners of such buildings to generate quick revenue, as they won't have to wait for months to get it completed.

Singh also claimed that the technology can revolutionise the whole infrastructure sector and speed up construction of commercial buildings, hospitals, educational institutes etc.
