"I would always want Wriddhiman to play for India," the 27-year-old smiles cheekily and you know what he meant.
But then he would make it clear that he is more secured as a cricketer now.
"In the last two years, Wriddhi has played a lot for India and occasionally for Bengal. And even when he has played, I have played as a specialist batsman. So I am now more secured in this Bengal set-up. Yes, a few years back I used to think a lot since I am a keeper-batsman," Shreevats said at the end of the day's play.
Ask about his third first-class century, Shreevats said that it was his best knock.
"If you ask me that if I would have thought of a total of 475 when we were 207 for 7, I would say 'No'. My target was at that we should be able to reach 350. But then I went into a zone. The 100 didn't make me feel elated neither was I overjoyed at 150. It was only when I hit a boundary at 199, I realised that, now this is something serious.
