CBI today carried out searches at 12 locations in NCR region at the premises of the directors of four firms in connection with the case of alleged corruption against suspended Chief Engineer of Noida, Yadav Singh.
Sources said offices of four "important" firms NKG Infrastructure, Anand Buildtech Pvt Limited, Tirupati Constructions, JSP Constructions which were allegedly involved in the project works awards by Singh were searched.
It is believed that directors of all the companies are from the same family but it is still being ascertained, they said.
The sources said office and residence of Pradeep Garg (Director in NKG Infrastructure), Devendra Kumar Gangwal, Vipin Garg and Vikas Gupta (all Directors in Anand Buildtech), V K Goyal (Director Tirupati Construction) and Sanjay Jain (JSP Construction) were searched as part of the operation.
The searches were spanned across 12 locations in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida.
In addition, search has also been conducted in the office of a hotel at NOIDA Goldlink Hospitality Pvt Limited which is a joint venture of two firms--Anand Buildtech and NKG Infrastructure.
"The relevant files/documents of the case; laptops; Ipads and computers from the office premises recovered during searches, are being scrutinised," CBI spokesperson Devpreest Singh said here today.
CBI has registered a case against Yadav Singh on the allegations of executing engineering work between December 14, 2011 and December 23, 2011 in which agreement bonds for Rs 954.38 crore(approx) were executed by Engineering Department of NOIDA (UP).
The probe has been taken over in compliance with the orders dated July 16, 2015 of Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court on the plea of activist Nutan Thakur.
Uttar Pradesh police had already registered an FIR vide no.371/2012 against then Chief Engineer in Police Station Sector-39, NOIDA, on a complaint.
"The allegations levelled in the FIR were that the then Chief Engineer, NOIDA, Greater NOIDA and the Yamuna Expressway Authorities (UP) entered into criminal conspiracy with unknown private persons/firms and awarded various contracts without following the laid-down procedures and thereby caused undue pecuniary gains to the tune of crores of rupees to private firms and to himself," the spokesperson said.
She said that after investigation, the local police submitted a closure report which was accepted on April 27, 2014 by the court of Special Judge, Gautam Budha Nagar (UP).
After the orders of the High Court, CBI is reinvestigating the case.
