Yoga Day: YMA not to attend Healthy Mizoram Campaign

The central committee of the Young Mizo Association (YMA), an apex body of the Mizos, today said it will not participate in the 'Healthy Mizoram Campaign' to be observed coinciding with the International Yoga Day tomorrow.
A press statement issued by the YMA central committee said the central executive committee (CEC) meeting held on Monday decided that the YMA central committee will not attend the campaign to be held at the Assam Rifles ground here on June 21.
The YMA central committee said yoga is not compatible with the Mizo society and Christian preachings.
The Mizo body also cautioned the people of Mizoram on the issue of practising yoga in the name of exercise.
