Youth attempts suicide in SSP office in Punjab

A youth today allegedly tried committing suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in the office of Senior Superintendent of Police here.
Sushil Kumar, a local, took the extreme step as soon as he reached the SSP's office, police said.
Kumar was allegedly being harassed by some private lenders, from whom he had loaned money. He had come to the SSP's office to lodge a complaint against them with a suicide note, they said.
Police rushed hime to a private nursing home, from where he was referred to another nursing home in Amritsar. His condition is stated be critical, they said.
An investigation is on in the matter, they added.
