Youth booked for attempting to rape two minor girls

A youth has been booked for allegedly attempting to rape two minor girls by luring them with toffees at Didaheri village, police said today.
The accused, Gulzar, who is in his early twenties, allegedly attempted to rape the two girls, aged six and eight years, yesterday, they said.
He has been booked under sections 376 (punishment for rape), 511 (attempt to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) of the IPC, and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, police said.
The accused is absconding.
