Samaiah, belonging to Warangal district, had a bottle containing some liquid in his hand. He threatened to drink from it and jump down, police said.
"He has now got down (after the police persuaded him). He is claiming to be a debt-ridden farmer. However, as per the preliminary information he was facing some family problems and financial problems besides being unemployed," additional deputy commissioner of police M Ram Mohan Rao said.
Samaiah's father owns half an acre of land, but further probe to ascertain the exact reason for his act was underway, said the deputy commissioner of police V B Kamalasan Reddy.
