Youth Congress activists today staged a protest demanding resignations of BJP leaders involved in the Lalit Modi controversy and the Vyapam scam, and slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi dubbing him as a "replica" of Adolf Hitler.
Pressing for their demand, members of Congress' youth wing also staged a street play taking jibe at BJP ministers at the Centre and in states.
"Modi is replica of Adolf Hitler. He talks when abroad, but is silent on vital issues in the country. His major focus is on wearing shawls, mufflers and spending more on his lifestyle.
"(Sushma) Swaraj and (Vasundhara) Raje took crores of rupees from Lalit Modi and helped fugitive in return. (Shivraj Singh) Chouhan says '49 toh kya agar 49,000 log bhi mar jaye mein resign nahi karunga (will not resign even if 49,000 people will die in Vyapam scam)'," Indian Youth Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja alleged.
He said the organisation will continue its protest until the "corrupt" BJP leaders resign.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje are at the centre of a row for allegedly helping Lalit Modi procure British travel documents and supporting the ex-IPL chief's immigration plea, respectively.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is under attack in connection with the Vyapam scam, which the Congress wing said has claimed lives of 49 persons associated with it.
