Additional Sessions Judge Pankaj Gupta sent Delhi resident 22-year-old Shahrukh Khan to jail and also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 besides asking him to pay Rs 25,000 as compensation to the victim.
"Inthepresentcase, theconvictassaultedonvitalpart of body of an aged lady, in day time despite knowing thatshe had been suffering from psychiatric problem for many years prior to the date of incident," the judge said.
The court noted that there had been rivalry between the victim's son and the accused and when she went to the accused's house to complain to his mother, Khan tried to stop her.
"... But once she refused, the accused pushed her on the ground, assaulted her and gave the fist blows on her head and the kadaa (bangle) worn by the accused in his hand struck on the forehead of the victim on vital part of her body and she sustained injuries which were dangerous in nature," it said.
"In view of the foregoing discussions, it can be held that the accused inflicted injuries on her vital part with intention and knowledge and under such circumstances if he by that act caused her death, he would be guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder," the court said.
According to prosecution, on October 31, 2012, Khan had a quarrel with the victim's son and when she went to the accused's house to complain to his mother, he pushed her on the road, kicked her and wounded her with a bangle.
Khan had denied the allegations and claimed he was falsely implicated in the case.
