The city crime branch today cracked a youth's murder case, which was previously registered as an accidental death case, and arrested his elder brother in this connection, police said.
Officers of crime branch unit 7 of Mumbai police today arrested Zeon Edward D'souza (28) for killing his younger brother Zito (24).
"On July 9, Zito was admitted to Sion hospital as he had suffered serious injuries after falling on broken glass. Five days later, he succumbed to his injuries following which, a case of accidental death was registered," police said.
However, the crime branch received information that Zito's elder brother Zeon is suspected to have killed his brother, police said.
"Considering this, Zeon was detained by the police and during his interrogation, he admitted to killing Zito over a family dispute," police said.
The accused was arrested under relevant sections of IPC and has been handed over to Kanjurmarg police station for further probe, poloce said.
