Station House Officer (SHO) Raj Kumar said three youths identified as Labhpreet Singh of Bhajallan in Garhshankar, Sarbjit Singh Sabbi of village Sauna and Rajesh of village Thane - had gone to the petrol pump to get their vehicle's fuel tank filled.
Four other persons on two motorcycles there entered into an altercation with them over some issue.
One of them opened fire injuring Labhpreet, who was later shifted to the local civil hospital by his friends, the police said.
An FIR has been registered against the alleged assailants. We have registered a case under section 307 of IPC and investigations are underway, the SHO said.
