Claiming that the 18-year old victim Sagufta Parveen was his girlfriend and was avoiding him off late, the accused Sunny Kumar alias Vivek (20) stabbed the girl to death, Superintendent of Police (SP) Natasha Gudia said.
The accused committed the crime while the girl was returning home after purchasing goods at Brahima Bazar area, she said.
The youth then stabbed himself several times at the same spot before the stunned witnesses.
Both, smeared in blood, were declared dead by the doctor,the SP said.
