Youth tries to immolate self near Shivpal Yadav's prog venue

An 18-year-old youth today allegedly set himself ablaze near a programme venue of state PWD minister Shivpal Singh Yadav in Ghazipur district, after "no action" was taken to redress his grievances at the District Magistrate office, police said.
The youth, Satyendra Kumar Bind, poured kerosene and set himself ablaze in Saidpur police station area where the programme of state PWD minister Shivpal Singh Yadav was going on, they said.
Policemen deployed at the venue immediately doused the blaze and rushed Bind, who had received 40 per cent burn injuries, to a hospital.
According to police, the man had recently submitted an application demanding action against a ration shop allotee at the district magistrate office.

He allegedly took the extreme step after no action was taken on his application, they added.
