Y S Sharmila, sister of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, created a new record by completing her 'Maro Prajaprasthanam' foot march campaign to "expose" an alleged "nexus" by ruling Congress-Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to "defame" the YSR family.
YSRCP spokesperson Rambabu Ambati said she had "rewritten history", which is a rare feat for a woman.
"Maro Prajaprasthanam had touched millions and ripped open the nexus and vested interests of political forces to keep Jagan away from people," Rambabu told reporters.
The foot march which began on October 2012 from Idupulapaya ended at Ichchapuram yesterday, after covering more than 3000 kilometres, he said.
He claimed that she would be the only woman to have walked such a long distance on foot to assure them that their future would be "bright" whenever Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would take over the reins of Andhra Pradesh.
About the political turmoil, he said that the Congress has been playing a "double game" over Telangana.
"There is no clarity on the issue of Hyderabad and contradicting statements are being issued by Congress leaders. While one leader said Hyderabad would be a union territory, others said that it would be a second capital," he said.
"All confusion and chaos are the creation of Congress and TDP which supported bifurcation of the state," he said.
On Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh's reported remarks that the Andhra Pradesh Assembly had passed the resolution on Telangana twice, Rambabu said that it is not a fact, since so far the AP state assembly has never passed any such resolution and the Congress in-charge of the state affairs has been bluffing.
"Our objection is that the Centre did not take into account the sentiments and feelings of all stake holders," he said.
