Zinc futures fell 0.43% to Rs 128.15 per kg today as participants reduced positions on weak cues from the global markets amid subdued demand at the domestic spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in March traded lower by 55 paise, or 0.43%, to Rs 128.15 per kg, with a business turnover of 210 lots.

The metal for delivery in March fell by 45 paise, or 0.35%, to trade at Rs 128.50 per kg in a turnover of 15 lots.

Marketmen said besides subdued domestic demand, a weak trend overseas where copper and other base metals declined after reports showed manufacturing slowed in China, the world's biggest user, mainly led to the decline in zinc futures.
