More biz for MSMEs to come at FGI Expo

Participation of MNCs into the three-day 'FGI Expo 2010-Ancillary Development Summit', beginning here from December 2 will ensure more business for MSMEs in Gujarat, a top company official has said.

“Large number of MSMEs from the state are taking part in the exhibition which is expected to give an impetus to the government's programme of developing the MSME sector," said Amit Patel, vice president of Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI). The event will provide opportunity to the participating MSMEs to meet the requirements of MNCs, corporate gains and Indian companies, he said. The focus of the event will be on engineering sector as Vadodara has emerged as the engineering hub due to the location of the above mentioned MNCs and big Indian companies around the city. The MNCs participating in the event include ABC Bearings Ltd, Areva T&D India Ltd, Bombardier Transportation India Ltd, General Motors, ONGC among others, Geetaben Goradiya, President of the FGI said. The event will include knowledge conclave, consisting of knowledge-oriented presentations by ABC, Bombardier, L&T and defence sector consisting of Army, Navy and Air Force projecting their requirements from the industry moderated by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
