The six accounts which had been frozen in January 1990 continue to remain so. In the first round of appeals, some persons had not wanted the letters rogatory issued by the Indian court to be approved by the Swiss courts.

However, this was turned down by the federal court which, after its decision, revealed that the persons who had filed the appeals were Win Chaddha, Ottavio Quattrochchi, Hindujas and their groupof companies.

Hinduja group chairman S P Hinduja said Hindujas were not the appellants in the present case. He said the Hinduja brothers had nothing to do with the Bofors deal and said none of their accounts were used as a conduit for payments to anyone in that contract.
