Bose Intl To Set Up 100% Subsidiary

Munich-based international project consultancy group Bose International (BI) has chalked out a plan to enter India in high technology areas.

The company is currently waiting for the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) nod to launch a wholly owned subsidiary in the country.

"The company, which will have its headquarters in Calcutta, will be named Bose International Projects Private (BIPPL)," said Swapan Bose, chairman, Bose International.

The company will go in for joint ventures later for which negotiations are currently on.

Bose International, which has offices in Switzerland, Germany, the US and the UK, is also the Indian representative of the German firm FlowTex which pioneers in horizontal trenchless directional drilling technique.

BI has already introduced this technique in the country and has set up training and maintenance services infrastructure for the purpose in Calcutta.

Elaborating the company's other corporate plans for India, Bose said BIPPL will enter into six high-technology areas in India like industrial cleaning technology, pre-fab mobile construction business; vacuum packaging for food and other segments, processed water plant, and printing. All of these are based on German technologies.

"We plan to begin operations in at least three of these areas by next year. The company already have tie-ups with some of the top German firms," Bose said.

The industrial cleaning technique, one of the latest in the world, avoids chemicals and uses dry ice and air.

It has a wide range of application in various industries like large automobile, aircraft, foundries and others.

The pre-fab mobile construction business is a relatively new growth area in construction business in the country.

The processed water plant project will cater to a wide range of industries like glass, chemicals, cosmetics plant and others.

The company has received good response from various private and public sector companies for its FlowTex horizontal directional drilling technique which enables trenchless drilling through a process of pilot boring and back rimming. This is used for laying cables and pipes.
